Total Internet audience in France in August 2024
In August 2024, 52.6 million web users visited at least one brand in the Community Blogs/Websites category, i.e. more than 8 out of 10 French people (82.1%).
Every day, 39.4 million French people consulted social media websites and apps, which is 61.5% of the population. This represents 1.1 million more people compared to last year (+3%).
Relative to all French people, the time spent per day on the category is 55 minutes.
15-24-year-olds are still the most common age group on these websites and apps. In particular, more of them visit these websites and apps every day (81.3%) and they also spend more time on them:
2 hours 28 minutes, or 61% of their daily surfing time.
In August 2024, 56.3 million people went online during the month, that’s 87.9% of the French population. Every day, 47 million of them browsed the Internet.
As in July, usage was particularly high for a summer month. French people spent an average of 2 hours 34 minutes on the internet each day, which is 11 minutes more than in August 2023, mainly driven by social media (+8 minutes). Mobile phones accounted for 81% of their daily surfing time.
